This top was made from the remainder of the skirt I used for the last dress. The first picture is the outside of the remaining skirt, but as you can see in the second picture, I flipped it inside out and used the green side of the fabric for my top.

<-- There was a zipper on the side of the fabric, so I needed to take that out and sew it to a size that most people would fit. Then I started working on the straps. I took the pink fabric I didn't use on the top, and sewed them into skinny straps I attatched to the shirt.

This dress was made from a skirt I bought from Savers that was size 17-18

V I first cut off the top layer of the skirt, because I was only going to use the bottom four layers for my dress.

V Then, I surged and sewed the top of the dress, leaving a little opening to put the elastic through.

V Then, I clipped the elastic holder onto the elastic (which I measured at about 34 inches) and pulled it through the hem I just made.

V I opened up the side of the dress and did the same thing for the hem between the top and second layer of the dress. As you can see in this second picture, once pulled the elastic through and had both ends through the opening, I sewed them together multiple times for reinforcement.

This next dress was made from another camisole that was too short for me, and my moms old dress

V I cut the bottom half [the skirt] of the dress and sewed it to the bottom of the camisole. But then I found out I made some mistakes :( and had to take out my stitches and redo them. If you can see in this picture, I caught some of the camisole in my bottom hem, which I wasn't supposed to do. Then I surged both ends so they wouldn't fray

My next project was a shirt made from a camisole that was too short for me and a kids skirt.

<--I measured and cut the camisole and then the skirt (right below the zipper) and pinned where I was going to sew them together. Before I sewed however, I surged the ends of both materials to keep it from fraying.

^ The finished product! (p.s. I also had to fix the straps on the camisole because they were coming out and looked strange....)

Today I made my first shirt. Since my mom let me have some of her old clothes, she said I had to make something for her, so that was my first project.

<-- First, I cut off the top of the dress and surged it so that it wouldn't fray.
V Continually ironing and pinning, I sewed the top hem and then went on to work on the sleeves.

V For straps, I cut off parts of both sleeves from the original dress and surged/sewed them to make straps.

V Then I added the straps to the strapless dress and I was done! :)
